Thanks for supporting Penacook Food Pantry
The United Church of Penacook Food Pantry wishes to thank all those who gave their support in 2013. The pantry offers Penacook-area families in need two bags of food and personal care items every two weeks. In 2013, the pantry served 2,072 participants, an increase from 1,793 in 2012. The need for support continues to grow. With cuts in government services and a weak economy, we expect little change in the call for assistance. Our dedicated volunteers include people who distribute food Tuesday mornings, as well as those who shop for supplies or pick up food bank orders and the weekly donation of bread from Freihofer’s, and those who stock the shelves.
Special thanks go to Nancy Peperissa who directs the program and Ethel Furlong who recruits, trains and schedules volunteers. Thanks are also sent to Joann Thureson, Jane Huxtable, Annette Compton, Carol Delbridge, Lynne Raleigh, Mike Manning, Sheila Merrow, Charlotte Keenan and Bob Fletcher who share the work of serving pantry visitors. Your donations, whether monetary or nonperishable food and personal care items, are welcomed throughout the year and greatly appreciated.
Located in the center of Penacook, the pantry drop off address is 30 Canal St. The mailing address is 21 Merrimack St., Penacook, N.H. 03303. Thank you to all who make the pantry a resource for Penacook-area residents who need a little help making ends meet. United Church is a “come as you are church” and we invite you to visit our website, ucpnh.org, or call the office at 753-4072 for more information.
