Different faiths join together for World Religion Day
The Greater Concord Interfaith Council sponsored the World Religion Day program for the first time on Jan. 19 at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Concord. Attendants representing six faiths discussed love, elimination of prejudice and doing good deeds. Pictured are Bobbi Blades (left) of Temple Beth Jacob talking with Imam Ahamed Kromah, while Sue Brewer of the Baha'i community of Concord visits with the mother of one of the youth. This event, initiated in 1950 by the American Baha’i community in response to animosity between religions at the time, has spread around the world.
