Weare Middle School Science Club members to compete at SeaPerch competition
Weare Middle School Science Club members Katie Barnes (left) and Alesha Kimball work on their SeaPerch Project, a collaborative activity that is part of the National Defense Education Program administered by the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. Four teams of seventh and eighth graders are learning how to build an underwater Remotely Operated Vehicle. These ROV's are designed to navigate underwater obstacles and retrieve items that have been placed on the bottom of a pool. Students in the Weare Middle School Science Club plan to compete in the SeaPerch competition on June 7 at the University of New Hampshire. This competition will host approximately 100 teams from all over the East Coast.
