Free speech award
Nominations are open for the annual First Amendment award, honoring diligence in protecting free press and free speech liberties, of the Nackey S. Loeb School of Communications in Manchester. A committee of judges chooses the recipient from public nominations. The award recipient receives $1,500 and a bronze eagle sculpture created by Loeb. Nomination forms are available at loebschool.org or 627-0005. The deadline for nominations is Sept 8.
The annual Wild New Hampshire photography contest is under way. Enter your photos to win in any or all of three categories: wildlife, wild plants and land/waterscapes. Up to five photos can be submitted by amateur photographers only. Youth (under 18) and adults will be judged separately. All winning photos will be donated to the silent auction that will benefit the Massabesic Audubon Center. Call 668-2045 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for the rules.
