Concord High School students participate in exchange program
The Concord High School German American Partnership Program students just returned from a month long stay in Wegberg, Germany. Twenty-five students lived with host families, attended the partner school, Maximilian Kolbe Gymnasium in Wegberg, and traveled to Cologne, Dusseldorf, Bonn and Berlin. The students on the trip were the same students who hosted the German students and their chaperones in the fall. Laura Ernest and Marnix van Steenbergen of CHS traveled with the students. The exchange between the two schools has been in place since 1981. The group of Americans and Germans (top) is shown at a welcome party at the Maximilian Kolbe Gymnasium on the Concord group’s first day in Germany. One of the students’ excursions was to Berlin, where the American and German students posed in front of the Brandenburg Gate.
