Laurie Zimmerman published a collection of her poems and was honored as an annual book award winner in the poetry series of Quercus Review Press, a California publishing house. She is a member of the English department faculty at Proctor Academy.

Evan Levy earned a bachelor’s degree from Emory University in Atlanta.

Elizabeth Chesley was accepted to the University of Vermont’s Honors College. She is a sophomore anthropology major.

Christine Murphy, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Murphy, advanced to candidacy in her Ph.D. in religious studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara. She received a Council of American Overseas Research Centers’ multi-country research fellowship, and will complete her Ph.D. in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, investigating post-Soviet Mongolian identity and funerary practices.

Maya Bloom was named to the dean’s list for the fall and spring semesters at Wentworth Institute of Technology in Massachusetts She is a computer science major. This summer, she was selected for a software engineering co-op position at NxStage Medical, where she is designing several new pieces of software for their applications.

Breton Minnehan, son of Peter and Paula Minnehan, earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in computer engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, N.Y. He was accepted into the Ph.D. program in computer engineering.

Peter Briccetti, son of Fred and Rebecca Briccetti, will attend Hamilton College in the fall.

Simon Levenson, son of Stewart Levenson and the late Clair Lonergan, will attend Bentley University in the fall.

LACONIA

Barbara Hayes, 92, knitted and donated 18 purple-colored hats to the “CLICK for Babies” campaign, which helps parents coping with excessive infant crying. The international effort is led in the Granite State by the New Hampshire Children’s Trust and aims to raise awareness about the Period of PURPLE Crying®, a developmental stage of increased infant crying.

Kerry Gaudreau was named to the dean’s list at Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y. Gaudreau is a senior drama major.

Zachary Daniels was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Clarkson University in Potsdam, N.Y. He is a junior biology/pre-physical therapy major.

Christopher Pratt Jr., Army private and son of Christopher Pratt and stepson of Tracy Pratt, graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning in Columbus, Ga.

Sven Gustafson received the Howard C. Fay memorial award for outstanding achievement in physics and was elected to Omicron Delta Kappa, national leadership honor society, at St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y. He was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester. He is a sophomore physics and mathematics major.

Sophia Swedberg was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Springfield College in Springfield, Mass.

Angela Waring earned a bachelor’s degree from Springfield College in Springfield, Mass.

Catherine Quimby received the Csendes scholarship to the advanced studies program at St. Paul’s School in Concord. She studied sustenance and sustainability during the summer. She attends Inter-Lakes High School.

Donna Kuethe will be honored in September as the New England Woman of the Year for her significant contributions to the national organization Every Child Is Ours and her 40 years of service to international, national, state, and local municipal/community recreation.

NEW HAMPTON

Natthaporn Srichaikham will attend Clarkson University in Potsdam, N.Y. to study computer engineering.

Dr. Glenda Reynolds was installed as secretary/treasurer of the New Hampshire Dental Society.

Tristyn Watts received the baccalaureate award in history, society and culture from Colby-Sawyer College in New London.

Emma Berry earned a degree in history and English from St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y. She is a senior history and English major.

Anthony “Tony” Quinn received an honorary doctor of humane letters degree from Colby-Sawyer College in New London. The honor recognizes an individual of humanitarian character and superior intellect whose life and work have brought about positive, far-reaching consequences for individuals and organizations. He has taught at the college for 22 years.

Anysia Howell was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn.

Lindsay Hoar was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at the University of Vermont in Burlington, Vt.

Pamela Stanley Bright ‘61, Deborah Coffin ‘76, Gretchen Richter Massey ‘82 and Margaret Mulley were elected members of the board of Colby-Sawyer College. Jonathan Pappalardo ’10 will serve as a Winton-Black Trustee, a distinction given to alumni who have graduated between three and nine years prior to election.
