Ben Schultz was named one of the 10 finalists of the 2014 Music Matters contest, a partnership between Salem Five and radio station 92.5 The River, that helps support music programs in local public schools. Students from the region submitted a recording of an original song, along with an explanation of why they feel music is important in schools. Schultz and Kristofer Jedd’s original song, “Forget About You,” was chosen by The River’s DJs and is featured on The River’s website. He is a student at Kearsarge Regional High School.
Edward Yonkers was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, Ill. He is a sophomore.
Kaitlin Charbono will attend James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va., to study social work.
Tyler Willey, Air Force Airman, son of Catherine and Timothy Willey, graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.
Nora Youngs earned a doctor of philosophy degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
