Super support from Scouts

The Hopkinton Town Library has had super support from Scouts in our community in the last several months. We are so fortunate to be able to reach out to individuals and community groups to undertake projects that enhance our physical plant and our programs and to have them reach out to us.

The Scouts deserve special notice at the moment because of some recent extraordinary undertakings. Aspiring Eagle Scout Evan Schindewolf has just completed a StoryWalk behind the library near the playground. Through his efforts, families can stroll down the path and enjoy a story whose pages are attached to a progressive set of expertly constructed permanent posts. Brownies from Troop 10740 refinished the benches that are in our front entryway and planted the urns outside the community room with beautiful flowers. Brownie Troop 11583 painted and decorated a picnic bench with colorful handprints to thank Leigh Maynard for the excellent work she does with children’s programming at the library. Finally, many Scouts helped with this year’s Friends of the Hopkinton Town Library annual book sale. We thank the Scouts for sharing their considerable talents with us at the library!
