Rock On Foundation sincerely grateful
The Rock On Foundation’s Board of Directors extends our sincere gratitude to all who helped make the “Sneakers and Speakers” benefit concert on July 6 a great hit. The event was hosted by Redhook Brewery in Portsmouth; Redhook’s generosity was crucial to the success of the event. They went above and beyond, and joined with GY&K Marketing to promote “Sneakers and Speakers” to a wide audience. The participating bands were fantastic, giving their all and supporting Rock On Foundation’s mission. Special thanks go to Deer Tick, Tan Vampires, STRNGRS and The Tripping Souls for their memorable performances. The experience was enhanced by the presence of local food vendors: Chunky’s Cinema, Flatbread Pizza Co., and MoJo’s BBQ Grill & Tavern. We also enjoyed working with Community Events, who provided sound.
We’re grateful to all of the volunteers who helped the event run smoothly, and to the 1,000 attendees. Thanks to that support, the Rock On Foundation was able to raise more than $12,000 through ticket sales.
Created by brothers Luke and Matt Bonner, the Rock On Foundation is a nonprofit organization formed to support arts and athletics in New Hampshire (and in Texas, where Matt plays in the NBA). Rock On will introduce new scholarship programs for high school graduates in 2014. Hosting events like last weekend’s “Sneakers and Speakers” concert, February’s NBA Three-Point Contest viewing party at Red River Theatres in Concord, a music showcase at March’s SXSW Music festival in Austin, Texas, and partnering with companies like The Mountain T-Shirt Company, allows Rock On to invest in nonprofit organizations and projects that promote artistic and athletic programs.
Locally, the Rock On Foundation was proud to contribute $8,000 directly to the city of Concord for improvements to White Park’s basketball court, a project initiated by the Frank Monahan Foundation. Stay tuned for the official ribbon-cutting ceremony and one-day basketball tournament to celebrate the rejuvenation of the court at White Park. Rock On is excited to partner with the Frank Monahan Foundation to improve athletic opportunities for Concord area residents.
In the meantime, thanks to all for the support, and we are looking forward to the future.
