Great season for Hershey Track

The Hershey Track year was full of water the entire season. Most of our practices were conducted in the rain. On the 4th of July, we held a road race, “Four on The Fourth,” starting and finishing at the high school. Fifty runners braved the 85-degree weather and the race was won by Sam Evans-Brown of Concord with a course record of 24:06. In the women’s division, Sarah Eck of Hopkinton won, also with a course record of 32:13, all while pushing her two children in a baby carriage. Three of our Hershey’s kids also ran, Sydney Stockwell, Emma Rothe and Lily Sabol, and two coaches, Lily Mitchell and Emmaleigh Sabol.

Two additional events were also held on the 4th , a 300-meter fun run on our “Unique Track” and our obstacle course that we had set up at the Hopkinton Family Fun Day. We had more than 50 kids running the obstacle course over and over to see if they could improve their times, and both events were lots of fun to watch.

We had a great season here in Hopkinton, super leadership from our coaches and great friendly competition at the end of all of our practices with the boy/girl relays.

A special thanks to all of our parents who came out to help and to support our program.
