Six large mosaic panels, featuring historical landmarks and items once manufactured or grown in and around Weare, now grace the entrance to the Weare Middle School. The project, inspired by Weare’s 250th anniversary this year, began with a meeting with the Weare Historical Society and moved on to an artist-in-residency project with New Hampshire mosaic artist Liz Van Saun.
The 450-plus students of Weare Middle School and their teachers created the end result. The images depicted in the mosaics were based on photographs borrowed from the Historical Society.
