Bikers made grandchildren happy
The Toys for Tots motorcycle rally was held Sept. 8. I went over to the DMV Concord meet place with two of my grandkids so we could see Santa on his motorcycle. We drove around, but couldn’t see him from the car, so I parked at the entrance and we sat on the grass roadside to watch them leave. It was a beautiful day and they left right on schedule. Ryley, the 5-year-old, had his day made when Santa waved to him on his way by. One after another, bikes rolled by and soon candy started flying toward us as they passed. We started retrieving it, but were overwhelmed and just sat and waved. More and more bikes came and so did the candy. Ryley and Mathew were having a ball, and by the time the last bike went by, we needed a grocery bag to collect the loot. It was better than Halloween because we didn’t have to do any walking.
I just want to thank all those great bikers for making my grandkids so happy that day and for the great cause they were pursuing, Toys for Tots. Great job bikers, you are all wonderful folks and we thank you very much for all you do each year. See you next year!
