Allenstown Public Library gets a new patio
The Allenstown Public Library has received a makeover. The photo shows how the library looked before and after a new patio was constructed. Along with the patio, the landscape around the library was improved. The project was completed as part of the Concord Lowe’s Heroes Employee Volunteer Program. Amber Cushing, library director, approached Lowe’s with the idea for the project in the spring and the store chose the project proposal for its annual volunteer project. The goal was to clean up the front yard and add a space to the library for patrons to read, use the wifi, and where the library could hold programs. All landscaping and patio construction was completed by Lowe’s employees, directed by team leaders Vicki Perham, Cheri Saltmarsh, Julie Klinger and George Klucky, as well as store manager Brian Buckham. Teen volunteers from Pembroke Academy assisted the Lowe’s volunteers, along with the Allenstown Highway Department.
