Plenty of fun at the farm

Mason Rowe of Loudon enjoys a hamburger at Farm Day at Miles Smith Farm in Loudon last year. The sixth annual Farm Day will be held Oct. 13 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the farm. Admission is free, with a fee for some activities. Visitors will be able to pet, brush and feed Highlander cattle, enjoy face painting and participate in fun activities. Children will even have the chance to ride a friendly and well-trained Scottish Highlander cow. There will be hay rides around the farm and Celtic music. The Human Scarecrow (Linda Ray from Clover Clown Company) will add to the fun. Lunch can be purchased in the food tent where Miles Smith Farm beef will be cooked on an open fire by Swiss-trained Chef Rolf Strub. There will be a cemetery walk and talk about the farm history. For more information or directions, call 783-5159 or visit milessmithfarm.com.
