KungFu-Cious motivates students

Donald Hyun Kiolbassa, also known as KungFu-Cious and author of the book “Discover Your Dragon,” visited Franklin Middle School on Sept. 20. He is a 2008 gold medalist for the United States Chinese Martial Arts Team which led him into the entertainment field where he is the man behind the action choreography and moves of some of the biggest animated video games in the industry. In addition, he had the unique opportunity to live and train in the Shaolin Temple in China. Overcoming bullying as a student, his school-wide assembly addressed student motivation and the tenets of hard work, health, balance, skills and goals. In addition, his book will be the foundation of the character education theme in the 7th and 8th grade advisory program called STARR. He will be working with the 7th and 8th students throughout the year, via Skype, in addition to returning in May for a culminating “Discover Your Dragon Challenge” assembly.
