Multicultural festival a success
Anyone who was in downtown Concord on Sept. 28 couldn’t help but be impressed by the variety of entertainment (much of it free) that was available. Congratulations in particular to the Concord Multicultural Festival, a family-friendly event that spanned the boundaries of culture, ethnicity and age to provide four hours of music, dancing, tasty international cuisine and celebration.
Particular thanks to Jessica Fogg of the Creative Concord Committee and her volunteers who made the Multicultural Festival possible. I suspect that few realize how close Concord came to not having a festival this year. Fogg, who also organizes the Creative Concord Caravan in the spring, showed outstanding leadership and tenacity in mobilizing a team to stage the event this fall. She’s an example of the exceptional cadre of young professionals who are bringing positive change to Concord.
