Helping the hungry
My name is Joseph Lulka and I am the assistant senior patrol leader for Boy Scout Troop 75 in Bow. I am a freshman at Bow High School. The parents and Boy Scouts of Troop 75 would like to thank those people in town who contributed to Scouting for Food.
On Nov. 9, many residents donated more than 8,000 nonperishable food items to Troop 75. The Boy Scouts and families and friends of Troop 75 and Cub Scout Pack 75 sorted, bagged and transported the food to the National Guard Armory in Concord. We even received a $50 donation, from a generous citizen, which was used to buy a variety of canned goods for donation. This food was donated to various food pantries. It will help many New Hampshire residents in need this season.
Troop 75 would also like to thank our assistant scoutmaster, Eben Herrick. Herrick has overseen the Scouting for Food program for the past five years and deserves our utmost respect. He helped me supervise this year’s food drive. We are most definitely grateful for everyone’s cooperation in Scouting for Food, and we look forward to collecting more food next year. Once again, thank you.
