Beaver Meadow Bar and Grille to host party
Beaver Meadow Bar and Grille will hold a New Year’s Eve Party Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. The night will feature dancing to the Brother Zee Band, appetizers, a cash bar, drink specials, party favors and a special midnight toast. Tae Kwon Do lessons
to begin in January
Concord Parks & Recreation will offer Tae Kwon Do for ages 5 and older Saturdays from Jan. 11 to Feb. 15 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the new Heights Community Center (formerly Dame School). The class will be taught by Daniel Jung, a seventh-degree black belt. Learn self-defense, discipline and coordination, all while having fun. Pilates, a great total body workout incorporating exercise that utilizes all the major muscle groups, will also be offered. This class is perfect for beginners as well as intermediate students and is for adults 18 and older. Classes will run Thursdays beginning Jan. 9 through Feb. 13 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Visit concordparksandrec.com or call 225-8690 to register for either or both classes.

∎ The Concord Public Library will host a Lego Club which gives Lego fans a chance to create with other builders. The club is designed for grades K-8 on the following Thursdays at 3:30 p.m.: Jan. 9, Feb. 13 and March 13. The library will also host a family story time class. The class includes stories, fingerplays and songs, all designed to strengthen a child’s reading or pre-reading skills. All ages are invited and groups are welcome. The class runs every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. except this Wednesday.

The program benefits older adults who are concerned about falls, have suffered a fall in the past; restrict activities because of concerns about falling; are interested in improving flexibility, balance and strength; and are 60 or older, active and able to problem solve.
