PITTSFIELD – Once again, the Belmont volleyball team needed only three sets to decide the outcome. And this time, it was a winning one. After three of their first four matches ended in sweeps (only one in Belmont’s favor), the Red Raiders dispatched Pittsfield, 3-0, last night to improve to 2-3. Incredible service (14 aces) team-wide and 16 assists from sophomore setter Emily Laflam (who also added two aces and three kills) sparked the Red Raiders, who are rounding into form after a shaky start to the season.
