The Insiders: Travel to Europe, or at least to the Audi to look at pictures of Europe
Try as we might to persuade them, the powers-that-be behind the Insider curtain have yet to authorize new editions of the paper in several awesome European locations. Apparently they think we are just looking for an excuse to book all-expenses-paid trips to these exotic locations for months at a time. Anyway, there will be plenty of Europe at tonight’s installment of the Walker Lecture Series at the Audi at 7:30 p.m., when Marlin Darrah presents a travelogue, “Southern Europe,” featuring highlights from Paris, Cannes, Barcelona, Granada, Seville, Croatia, Greece and Istanbul. For more information, visit walkerlecture.org.
There’s another sweet event in town tonight – literally. Douglas Whynott (whose name accurately answers the question, why should you attend this discussion?) will be at Gibson’s Bookstore at 7 p.m. to discuss The Sugar Season: A Year in the Life of Maple Syrup, and One Family’s Quest for the Sweetest Harvest.
