The Insiders: See Barry Steelman in the Insider and then catch a movie with him at Red River
Dedicated fans that you are, we don’t have to tell you that the latest issue of the Insider hits newsstands today (if you’re reading this late because you spent all morning sleeping next to one of our downtown boxes so you could be first to grab a copy, we totally understand). What you’ll find in there is our annual Hunks of Concord feature, which this year includes one Barry Steelman of Red River Theatres. Tonight also happens to be the next installment of Great Movies on Wednesday Evenings with Barry Steelman at Red River – which gives you the perfect opportunity to go on a date with a Concord hunk! Kind of. You won’t get to share popcorn with Mr. Steelman – well, probably not – but you will get to see Lili, the 1953 film starring Leslie Caron. We can all but guarantee it will be the only movie you watch tonight featuring a character described as an “embittered puppeteer,” which we’re pushing for as its own category at next year’s Academy Awards. The film begins at 8 p.m. and is followed by a brief post-film commentary and discussion.
