  • Ray Wirick constructed the sand sculpture "Beauty Pagent at the Fair" yesterday afternoon. Wirick, who travels all over the world for his work, said that this was his first time in New Hampshire. The majority of the work on the sculpture will be finished today, with the remaining details finished by noon tomorrow, he said. <br/><br/>(SUSAN DOUCET Monitor staff)

The 99th annual Hopkinton State Fair got under way yesterday. The fair, which features food and different types of fun, runs through Monday.
