Stand-up comedy show comes to Laconia venue

Stand-up comedy comes to Laconia

Pitman’s Freight Room in Laconia is branching into the world of stand-up comedy, with its first show on Saturday at 8 p.m. Boston-area comics Mark Scalia and Mitch Stinson are on the bill. Both performers have worked in Las Vegas and appeared on Comedy Central and Sirius XM radio.

“There really isn’t anything in the area where you can see a variety of Boston- and New York-based comedians and headliners,” said Dick Mitchell, who owns Pitman’s with his wife, Connie. “We think the people of the area will support this type of event.”

New England-based Laugh Riot Productions will be producing the Saturday night show, as well as future stand-up nights at the venue. Tickets for the first show are $15, and Pitman’s has a BYOB drinks policy. For information, visit
