Take out your safety pencils and circles of paper, everyone, it’s time for a math lesson. If you have a rising country duo and a flamenco power trio, what times will the trains intersect?
Um, what we meant to ask was, how many tremendous music shows do you have?
The answer is two, and they’re both happening tonight.
Emerging country music stars Krista Angelucci and Skyler are playing a concert to raise money for the Bishop Brady tuition assistance fund at the City Auditorium at 8 p.m., while The Juanito Pascual New Flamenco Trio is performing at Red River Theatres at 7 p.m. as a fundraiser for the Granite State Music Festival.
Angelucci was a perfect fit for Bishop Brady, as she has cousins who attend the school and was willing to sign on for the performance for “a nominal fee that wouldn’t even cover her gas getting here,” according to Brady’s Maureen Kimball. But you’re going to want to check her out now before she becomes Carrie Underwood famous – one of her videos recently won video of the year at the 2013 Limelight Magazine Music Awards, so the sky is the limit.
The Skyler is also the limit. That doesn’t make any sense, but it was an opportunity to mention that Skyler is something of a rising star himself.
The artists will hold a meet-and-greet at 10 p.m. following the concert.
General admission tickets are $12.50, or $10 for seniors and students with a valid ID. Tickets are available at Bishop Brady at 25 Columbus Ave., at the UPS Store at 75 S. Main St. or online at bishopbrady.edu. For more information, call 224-7418, or email email@example.com.
If Flamenco music is more your speed – and we love pink flamencos; we just put a few on our neighbors’ lawn! – then The Juanito Pascual New Flamenco Trio is right up your alley. How’s this for a sales pitch – Pascual described the blend as a “flamenco power trio” and as “Jimi Hendrix meets Paco de Lucia.”
Tickets are $25 or $15 for students. To purchase tickets, or for more information, visit granitestateartsmarket.com/gsmf-the-juanito-pascual-trio.
