Hillsborough Pride to honor Heidi Welch, Osram-Sylvania at dinner Saturday
Hillsborough Pride is celebrating the best of the town Saturday and opening the invitation to all in the region.
The group is holding a dinner to honor Citizen of the Year Heidi Welch, the Hillsboro-Deering High School music teacher named as New Hampshire’s Teacher of the Year and one of four finalists for the national honor, and Osram-Sylvania as Company of the Year.
Another group used to hold the annual awards dinner, and when they stopped, Hillsborough Pride stepped in, said board President David Fullerton.
“We decided it was a good idea. . . . We do things to create a sense of community and help boost the businesses in town,” he said.
The event is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the American Legion Hall on West Main Street, and the $25 tickets include dinner.
Tickets may be purchased in town at Sweet Expressions, The Messenger and Premier Printing.
