Ever wonder how your cat can take a header off the dining room table while trying to chase a reflection on the wall and somehow land feet down as if it planned the maneuver all along? All those years of agility training, of course.

All the long hours spent in the dojo with Mr. Meowagi come to fruition today, when the Seacoast Cat Club wraps up its 35th annual cat show at the Everett Arena on Loudon Road from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Come see official judging of more than 40 breeds of cats registered in the Cat Fanciers’ Association, as well as the exciting agility course, where acrobatic cats bounce through obstacles that don’t include the cardboard box your toaster came in.

Before taking center stage, all cats in the agility event will be tested for performance-enhancing drugs such as catnip.

Tickets are $6 for adults, $4 children and seniors. Donations of cat food at the door will be given to local shelters, and food will also be collected for the New Hampshire Food Bank. For information and a coupon for $1 off admission, visit

Thinking outside the litter box for your entertainment today? How about “We Got Swing,” the performance at South Congregational Church by the New Hampshire Gay Men’s Chorus? The concert will take place at 4 p.m. at South Congregational Church, 27 Pleasant St. Tickets can be purchased at
