The Insiders: Got the blues? We recommend some blues
Got the how-is-it-Sunday-already blues? Well we have the perfect thing to cure what ails you. Some blues!
The Kimball-Jenkins Estate is hosting the third annual Blues for Beanie blues festival this afternoon, featuring a lineup of accomplished musicians to send cool noises into your ear compartments. Featured performers include Jerry Portnoy, who you may know from the Muddy Waters Band and Eric Clapton Band, as well as the Racky Thomas Band, Fran Calo and her band and Mr. Nick & the Dirty Tricks.
Things you will need to enjoy this performance: 25 American dollars and something comfortable to sit on. While your couch certainly fits that bill, chairs designed for one backside at a time are a better fit for this event.
Food and drink will be available, and the show will be held rain or shine (there is an indoor venue on-site). Doors open at 1 p.m., and the show kicks off at 2 p.m. Children under 15 get in for free.

Today also marks the conclusion of a weekend-long grand opening at Lilise LLC of GraniteCor Industries, master craftsman furniture from the New Hampshire Department of Corrections.
It’s about time you ditched your lava lamp and bean bag chair anyway, so why not stop by and take a peek at some cool new creations?
Bonus: Today from noon to 4 p.m., The Gallery Hair Salon will provide complimentary manicures, and Motives will be giving away mini-makeovers. Wine and cheese will also be served, and a recent scientific study completed by our stomachs revealed that any event is worthwhile when wine and cheese is served.
