The Insiders: On international waters

Anything goes today, Concord. Consider yourselves in international waters. The rule of law has been suspended, so feel free to try out any of the things you normally are forbidden to do, whether by law or by the tenets of morality. Monkey knife fights, toddler races, mini-marathon of Fox’s new comedy Dads? All that heretofore untoward behavior is totally legit today! Well, we think it is, anyway. With all of the international flavor festooning Concord today, we’ve got to be in international waters!

First, dip your toe in at the annual Taste Of Greece festival at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Try the Greek foods, the flaky pastries and take in the music and dancing – Greek-style! For more information, call 225-2961.

Concord’s annual Multicultural Festival takes place from 3 to 7 p.m. today on the State House lawn. Come down and participate as members of all of Concord’s diverse cultures share their unique foods, drinks, dance, crafts, storytelling and much more. This free event is always a good time; all are welcome at this street fair. For more information, visit nhmulticulturalfestival.com.

Lastly, tonight is your chance to ask your elected officials “How do you like them apples?” and actually mean it! The Merrimack County Democrats Harvest Dinner takes place at Carter Hill Orchard today from 4 to 7 p.m. Pick some apples, share in a potluck and hobnob with Democratic bigwigs like Anne Kuster, Sylvia Larsen, Colin Van Ostern and more. RSVP at secure.actblue.com/page/harvestsupper to save $5 on your entry.
