The Insiders: You’re invited to this musical family reunion
Family reunions are so much fun. Who doesn’t like rehashing decades-old sibling disputes and having their cheeks squeezed to a capillary-popping purple by Aunt Velma? Plus, potato salad. Other people’s family reunions tend to be less fun, though, what with the not knowing anybody and calls to the police to make you leave and restraining orders and all that stuff.
Unless, of course, other people’s family reunions produce sweet music for you to listen to. That’s the case tonight, when Concord’s own Rachel Vogelzang reunites with her sister, Anna Vogelzang, to perform at Tandy’s at 7. It will be the first time the sisters have performed on the same stage.
Delanie Pickering, a talented Concord High School student, will open the show, followed by Anna, then Rachel. Stop by and catch some Vogelzang family history. Oh, and some great tunage.

From family reunions to the family dog we go, to tell you about Scrubbing Paws For a Cause, a dog-washing event today at noon at A Furry Affair at 244 Sheep Davis Road. Dogs will be washed from noon to 5 p.m. for $10 each (cash only), with all proceeds going to All Better Pets animal shelter and rescue center in Manchester. The event is being put on by four local grooming salons and will include photos with the Easter bunny and refreshments. For more information, call 856-8001.
