Concordians – in our mind, you are all stars. Tonight is your chance to prove it! If you’re one-to-three women or one man aged 20 to 70 (target demographic!) and have a flair for the dramatic, consider auditioning for the Community Players of Concord’s production of Doubt: A Parable. The Tony-winning tale of Catholic church cover-ups hits the Audi stage in May, but auditions start tonight at 7 p.m. at the Community Players Studio, 435 Josiah Bartlett Road.

Given that the film adaptation, Doubt, pulled Oscar nominations for all four of the lead and supporting actors and actresses, we think the bar is set just high enough for Concord’s finest thespians. The capital city is home to heaps of Streeps!

Not cut out for the stage? No problem – there are plenty of opportunities in town for those who prefer to watch (and listen)! Hooray for Hollywood is coming to the Capitol Center for the Arts next month.

The extravaganza will feature some of the greatest songs from the silver screen performed by a talented cast of singers and dancers and accompanied by the iconic images and clips from the original films. You’ll see “My Heart Will Go On” from Titanic. “Singing in the Rain” from Singing in the Rain. All those great songs from We Need To Talk About Kevin, we assume.

This latest installment in the William H. Gile concert series takes place March 20 at 7:30 p.m. and is free for anyone who reserves tickets. Visit the Cap Center box office, go online at or call 225-1111 to lock yours down. The ticket request period started yesterday, so get ’em while they’re hot!

Other fun activities tonight:

lStudent vocal/instrumental recital at Havenwood Retirement Center.

7 p.m., 30 Christian Ave.

lOur War book discussion with author Mike Pride.

7 p.m. Hopkinton Town Library, 161 Houston Drive, Contoocook.
