The Insiders: Follow the music
Concord Insider's Ben Conant and Keith Testa (SAMANTHA GORESH / Monitor staff)
When it comes to music, it’s always been our philosophy that you can never have too many notes. The more, the merrier, we say – just cram those songs full of notes! You’ll have plenty of opportunity to hear a plethora of notes of all types tonight – if you’ll only heed the Insider’s advice, that is. Let’s get after it!
Another week of summer means another free installment of Concord’s summer music series. How lucky we are to be in a city that cares about providing its denizens with free music! Tonight’s event features the Nevers Band at Riverfront Park at 7. For more information, visit neversband.com.
There’s more music in store for you folks out there tonight. Presidential Oaks (200 Pleasant St.) will host Club Soda Band for a fun, free dance party tonight at 6:30. For more information, call 800-678-1333.
If you’d rather substitute shaking hands with potential friends and business partners for shaking your groove thing, check out the Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce/Concord Young Professional’s Network event tonight. This networking opportunity takes place at Northern European Automotive (14 Chenell Drive). One lucky door-prize winner will be selected to pay the repair bill for our Jetta! Pre-register at concordnhchamber.com; $7 gets you in the door with two drink tickets.

Finally, some corrections to mistakes we made in last week’s columns. First, R&B singer Robin Thicke is best known for his hit song Blurred Lines, not for penning and crooning the Growing Pains theme song, as we reported. Next, the new film The Lone Ranger is not the latest installment in the Pirates of the Caribbean series; Johnny Depp plays a totally different character in this movie. Finally, contrary to what we reported last week, we did not actually eat the bones. We’ll try to do better next time.
