The Insiders: Liven up your yard with some new recycled garden art
Today feels like a good day. After all, it is Friday and the weekend is so close we can almost taste the barbecue. (And by the way, if you’re having one, let us know.) But before heading back into the garden for another two days of weeding and watering, why not get something to liven up your yard a bit. We’re talking about colorful recycled whimsical garden art made from second hand stuff.
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today, Happy Returns will hold an open house at 15 Pine St. for anyone who wants to check out some bird baths, feeders and garden stakes. And it’s just the first of three days, as the open house will continue on Saturday and Sunday at the same time.
On Saturday, get out your walking shoes for the Concord Coalition to End Homelessness’s 3rd annual “Walk in Their Shoes” fundraiser, starting at the Friendly Kitchen (2 S. Commercial St.). Registration begins at 9:30 a.m., with the walk to follow at 10 a.m. There will be a 3-mile and a 5-mile route, designed to give walkers an idea of what it’s like to walk from one point of service to the next.
