The Insiders: It’s beer night in New Hampshire, or at least at Gibson’s.

Whether you’re a hop-crazed IPA enthusiast, a budding brewer or a 21-year-old sitting at the local pub about to buy your first (legal) adult beverage, beer always makes for a great topic of conversation. How could it not? It’s delicious, could be considered nutritious (that’s if you add fruit to it) and there’s just so many different flavors.

And by now, you may be wondering where we’re going with this. It’s understandable, sometimes we just like to ramble about our favorite things.

Well we’re here today talking about beer because Brian Aldrich will be doing the same tonight at Gibson’s Bookstore at 7 p.m. Aldrich will discuss his book, New Hampshire Beer: Brewing from Sea to Summit (which he wrote with friend, Michael Meredith), that chronicles the breweries in New Hampshire from 1991 to 2013 by talking with brewers, bar owners and beer drinkers to find out what makes the Granite State a great place for craft beer.

And as an added bonus, Tree Brew Cafe will be hosting a beer tasting at the same time. Looks like we just found a great way to spend a Thursday night that allows you to drink beer and learn at the same time. Sure does bring you back to those college days, doesn’t it?
