The Insiders: This Pied Piper is nothing to be scared of

Hey parents – it’s almost time for your children to go back to school. We know youve been enjoying this ever-so-fleeting summer and with it, the chance to spend some quality time near your kids as they text, SnapChat and do God knows what else on their phones. Today’s the day to bring your kids down to the Mill Brook Gallery to check out the outdoor sculpture garden and meet sculptor Andy Moerlein. Moerlein is known as the “Pied Piper of Outdoor Sculpture in New Hampshire,” but don’t worry, he won’t lure your children into a cave and steal them away forever if you renege on a rat-extermination contract, we assume. The event starts at 10 a.m. at the gallery (236 Hopkinton Road). For more information, visit themillbrook
gallery.com or call 226-2046.

International intrigue comes to Gibson’s Bookstore tonight as author Betsy Woodward discusses the latest in her Jana Bibi series. Love Potion Number 10 (that does sound like a sequel, doesn’t it?) is the Andover author’s follow-up to last year’s Jana Bibi’s Excellent Fortunes; Woodward will be on hand to discuss her heroine and sign copies of the new book. The event takes place at 7 p.m.; for more information, call 224-0562 or visit gibsonsbookstore.com.
