The Insiders: Variety is the spice of this variety show

It’s said that variety is the spice of life. It’s also the spice of today, tomorrow and Sunday as the Rotary Club of Concord is set to host a variety show, “The Magic of Movies & Television: A Musical Tribute” at the Concord City Auditorium. Performances are tonight and tomorrow at 7:30 and Sunday at 2 p.m.

Performers include many familiar faces, including John Duval, Concord’s police chief. There will also be a handful of memorable TV theme songs, as well as a giant 1950s TV set featuring clips from the shows and movies, factoids, and perhaps some creative video editing featuring current performers. Tickets can be purchased from any Rotarian, at the Capitol Center for the Arts, Gibson’s Bookstore, the UPS Store, Merrimack County Savings Bank on North State Street or on the web at concordnhrotary.org.

If you’re looking for some morning fun Saturday, stop by the Bow Mills United Methodist Church Snowman Fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Get your Christmas shopping done early thanks to a variety of handmade items and take part in a cookie walk, which could only be topped by a cookie 5K.
