The Insiders: This local art is a tour-de-force
There’s art everywhere you look. Where you’re looking right now, for instance, is a tremendous example of a masterpiece, painstakingly crafted over thousands of seconds. But don’t let this column alone satisfy your hunger for art today. Think of it more as an appetizer, because there’s a veritable buffet of artistic expression on display throughout our fair city this afternoon.
The Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce is hosting an Art Concord Free Gallery Tour from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with nearly a dozen galleries available for a visit. Each stop will feature a flyer and map to help you on your way (good luck finding the buried treasure!), as well as refreshments. Featured galleries include League of New Hampshire Craftsmen (49 S. Main St.), M. Hanson Photography Studio (90 Manchester St.), McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center (2 Institute Drive), McGowan Fine Art (10 Hills Ave.), Mill Brook Gallery and Sculpture Garden (236 Hopkinton Road), New Hampshire Art Association (49 S. Main St.), New Hampshire Audubon (84 Silk Farm Road), New Hampshire Furniture Masters Association (49 S. Main St.), NHTI Library Gallery (31 College Drive), Red River Theatres (11 S. Main St.) and the Works Cafe (42 N. Main St.).
