The Insiders: A bro-tastic comedy night
Full disclosure: Both of your faithful Insiders are of the male persuasion. As bros, we simply lack the cognitive capacity to function on a day-to-day basis. In fact, it’s hard to believe we actually typed out that sentence and used all the words in it correctly! Yet somehow, we soldier on. Fortunately for us and our gendermates, there is a comedy show tonight that answers the question we were barely able to formulate and ask on our own.
The “How Men Think: Or Do They?” comedy tour hits the Holiday Inn (172 N. Main St.) tonight, and it promises to be a rip-roaringly bro-tastic good time. Five of Boston’s top stand-ups (headlined by Mike Cote – those of you who still remember who Mitt Romney was will love his impression of good old Uncle Mittens) hit the stage to muse on “wives, mothers, friends, kids, careers, neighbors, growing older, love, lust, internet dating, sandwiches and other things you wouldn’t believe they wasted time thinking about.” Oh man – we hope they talk about the different ways men and women do things!
Tickets are $25 or $40 if you want access to the summer barbecue buffet (guys love meats!). Doors are at 7 p.m., showtime is 8:30 p.m. For more information, visit drinkwaterproductions.com or call (855)255-5750.

Elsewhere, Willy J. Laws, also known as “The Last Prophet of the Funky Texas Blues,” will be testifying via guitar at the Purple Pit at 9 p.m. Go to thepurplepit.com for more information. Something heartbreaking will probably happen in the world of Boston sports (does a day go by anymore without this happening?).
