At times like these, before making any critical decisions, we always believe it’s important to take a step back and ask yourself, what would Molydeux?

Actually, we’ve never thought that. Not until today, at least. Why the change? Because NHTI is hosting the What Would Molydeux AGGP Game Jam, a game development marathon inspired by the works of legendary game designer Peter Molydeux.

Never heard of Molydeux? It doesn’t mean you can’t dig this jam, which begins at 5 p.m. today and runs nonstop until 6 Sunday evening. Participants are given that time to develop games, which will be demonstrated to the public at 5 p.m. Sunday. Games we’ve pitched to potential participants include Pin the Tail on the Parking Attendant and Slightly Agitated Birds.

The entire event is free and open to the public, and is sponsored by the NHTI Department of Animation and Graphic Game Development.

Also tonight, Red River Theatres continues its Xtreme Friday Night film series with a showing of Antiviral at 10. How extreme of a Friday night is it going to be? Extreme enough to remove an entire E, apparently. The film’s premise sounds humorous – a clinic provides injections of live viruses harvested from sick celebrities to obsessed fans – but viewers beware: the movie is described as a “challenging, not for the squeamish, sci-fi/horror satire.” So bring your sense of humor and your iron stomach if you’re heading out for the night.
