The Insiders: Hit the road, Jack, for the craftsmen fair
It’s one of those rarefied days here for the Insiders – we’re actually going to tell you to get out of town! Not too far, of course; just take a drive over to scenic Newbury and take in the annual League of New Hampshire Craftsmen fair at Mount Sunapee. (The League is headquartered in Concord, after all – this counts as a Concord-centric event!) Make the trip to see and buy handcrafted pieces from more than 350 artists. The best part? The artists themselves will be on hand, so you can ask them about their process or even take a workshop and learn how to do it yourself! The fair is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. If you can’t make it today, no worries – the fair runs through Aug. 11. For more information, visit nhcraftsmen.org.

Elsewhere (by which we mean actually within the Concord city limits), Stovall Brown plays the blues at the Purple Pit at 9 p.m., and tickets are $15. For more info, visit thepurplepit.com. The Calerpittars perform at Hermanos at 7:30 p.m. For more information, visit hermanosmexican.com.
