The Insiders: Bid those Super Bowl calories farewell before you even say hello
Hope you’re feeling super today, readers. Or perhaps you’re just feeling bowl; either way, we presume you can tell what we’re fumbling our way toward saying before we hand the day off to you. It’s football pun day! Also, it’s Super Bowl Sunday! It’s really one of the greatest days of the year – not only is sitting on the couch, watching sports and eating terribly junky food acceptable, it’s fully expected. Our advice: do that.
But before you grub down all evening and start screaming obscenities at Peyton Manning and his tight-helmet-induced purple forehead, there are a few activities around town that might interest you. And the first one is a great way to burn off some of those calories before you even ingest them! Northeast Delta Dental is hosting the 4th Down and 4 (Miles) Super Bowl Super Race – to help the NHTI cross country team travel to the 2014 USCAA Cross Country championship in Syracuse, N.Y. – at 11 a.m. today. You can run, jog or walk a flat and fast 4-mile course and maybe win some cool prizes at the end. The race kicks off at 2 Delta Drive.

Also today, Red River Theatres will be showing High Pressure at 4 p.m., and Mike Alberici will be playing at Hermanos at 6:30 p.m.
