Ready or not: more snow

Ready or not . . . it’s snowing again – or will be soon.

The National Weather Service is forecasting snow in the Concord area beginning at 7 this morning and continuing until midnight. We may get 4 to 8 inches.

The heaviest snowfall is expected in the afternoon, the weather service said, and will taper off from south to north through the evening. Travel will be especially dangerous during the evening commute, with snow-packed roads and reduced visibility, the weather service said.

“If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle,” the service said, in issuing a winter storm warning for the area.

By early evening yesterday, according to wmur.com, about a dozen schools had announced plans for the early release of students today.

If it’s all getting to be too much, consider this: High temperatures will climb above freezing tomorrow and get over 40 – with sun – Thursday, according to Accuweather. Of course, Friday may bring rain – but that’s a story for another day.

Below zero again this morning. Snow in all 50 states. More snow on the way here. Local wood pellet manufactures are sold out...more have to be trucked in from out west, and wont be here for a week. Ski areas doing great. Snowmobilers having a great season. Great Lakes nearly completely froze over. Arctic ice above average. NOAA predicted a warmer than average winter. Maybe after they get done massaging the data, it will be.
