The Insiders: Here’s your chance to buy some sweet local art
Is there a space in your house just screaming for some new art? And are you one of those people who only like one-of-a-kind paintings that will never be duplicated?
Well, look no further then Intown Concord’s third annual Locally Famous Art Auction tonight at 5:30 in the Carriage House at the Kimball-Jenkins Estate at 266 N. Main St. This is your chance to bring home that original work to really tie the room together. And the best part? Each piece was created by local Concord celebrities.
That’s right folks, Melissa Miller, Byron Carr, Byron Champlin, Saad Hindal, Karina Kelley and McGowan Fine Art’s Sarah Chaffee all slaved over a canvas last month for these paintings. There’s even one by former Major League Baseball pitcher Bob Tewksbury. Quite a few people have Tewksbury’s autograph from his playing days, but who can say they own one of his original paintings? Our guess, probably not many people.
Our very own Keith Testa even has a piece for sale. Keith’s budding art career has adorned the pages of the Insider and here’s your chance to obtain a Testa original. Let the bidding begin at . . .
Just kidding. We don’t have that kind of power. That’s reserved for Chaffee who will serve in the role of auctioneer.
Tickets are available at the door for $25. The price of admission will get you food from Common Man Concord, complimentary beverages and the jazz/swing stylings of local musician Kenny Weiland. All proceeds support Intown’s events, programs and initiatives in downtown Concord.
The night will also serve as Intown Concord’s annual meeting, where new board members will be welcomed and the Community Impact Awards will be presented.
