In the backroom of her elegant downtown Concord jewelry gallery, Kristin Kennedy has her hands covered in black dust. She’s spent part of her morning, between meeting with clients and other administrative work, crouched over her work table, Her well-worn tools are spread across the table across from a board that has notes and clippings, inspiration for future projects, family photos hanging along side pieces of raw material. She’s been making jewelry for 17 years, mostly out of her basement. But now she has her own space for her large polishing and sand blasting machines as well as a place to solder and forge the original pieces that she sells in the serene store front. Kennedy had a soft opening of her new store front last year and is gearing up for her grand opening in May. “When I got the call this space was available, I was like, ‘Yay!’ Dancing in my kitchen,” she said. “And then it’s like the pit in my stomach, like ‘Are you ready for this?’”
