Man arrested following West Ossipee store robbery, threats

A man has been accused of robbing a store in West Ossipee and threatening the owner with a gun.

The police told WMWV that the state police commanding officer in Tamworth was able to make an arrest quickly Thursday. Forty-two-year-old Richard Schoonmaker of Effingham was arrested not far from O’Keefe’s discount store.

The police said a man allegedly told the store’s owner, who was not hurt, that he would kill him. The owner stepped outside the store and the suspect got away.
