The Insiders: Is Batman coming to Gibson’s? Nope, but Peter Wayne is, and he’s also awesome
Quick primer on tonight’s author appearance at Gibson’s Bookstore: Peter Wayne? He’s got a Ph. D. and is a celebrated writer and professor at Harvard Medical School. Bruce Wayne? He’s Batman. It’s Peter Wayne who will be appearing at Gibson’s, so plan accordingly (*puts Batman costume back in closet*).
Peter Wayne is likely a superhero to some, though. He’s the founder and director of the Tree of Life Tai Chi Center, an assistant professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School and the research director of the Osher Center for Integrative Medicine, all of which are fancy sounding names and places. He’s also author of The Harvard Medical School Guide to Tai Chi, which he’ll be discussing tonight at 7 at Gibson’s. Wayne delves into the physiology that explains how tai chi works and explains the differences between it and martial arts, among other topics. What other topics? You’ll have to stop by to find out. If you’re looking for something else to do tonight, you could play Freese tag: the Freese Brothers Big Band – along with vocalist Amanda Carr – will be playing at the Concord City Auditorium as part of the Walker Lecture Series tonight at 7:30. Disclaimer: Please don’t actually chase and/or tag any of the band members. We’d recommend just listening to the tunes.
