The Insiders: Learn the ins and outs of fighting like a theatre professional
We sure do love free stuff. Whether it’s pizza, candy or smiles, it’s all good with us.
And tonight, NHTI is using its Wings of Knowledge series to give all of you something for no cost, and it comes in the form of nationally renowned teacher David Leong.
Leong is legendary in the theatrical world for his ability to create intense choreography routines. But we’re not talking about just any choreography – we’re talking about fight choreography. And what’s the first rule about fight choreography? You don’t talk about fight choreography. That is unless you’re Leong because that’s the whole reason behind the award-winning choreographer’s trip to the NHTI Library Living Room tonight at 7.
Leong’s action packed sequences have been featured in more than 300 plays and musicals, including on Broadway. And he wants to tell you all about it and the fact he once worked with Christopher Walken. He might even show you a couple sweet moves that you can pull off this Sunday at your family’s Easter dinner. The talk is free and open to the public.
Also tonight, McGowan Fine Art’s gallery director Sarah Chaffee will take over the Kimball-Jenkins Estate to teach you how to create a cohesive look between your more traditional furnishings and your abstract or contemporary art. The event begins at 6 p.m. and cost is $30 with sign-ups accepted at the door.
