Concord man charged with threatening bailiff in family court

A 49-year-old Concord man was arrested Wednesday after allegedly threatening a family court bailiff.

The Franklin police charged William Laquire, of 21 Fayette St., with three counts of criminal threatening, two counts of criminal trespass and one count of disorderly conduct. According to police affidavits, Laquire became disorderly after a family court hearing in Franklin. He allegedly intimidated a court clerk and told a courtroom bailiff, “I will take care of you with a 45-cent bullet.”

Laquire threatened to return when court bailiffs asked him to leave the courthouse. He eventually left, but tried to return shortly after. Security contacted the Franklin police, who arrived after Laquire had left. The state police arrested him during a traffic stop in Concord and returned him to Franklin for booking.

He was held on $5,000 cash bail pending his arraignment in Franklin’s district court.
