Intown Concord to host annual Upstairs, Dowtown tour

Tickets are still available for Intown Concord’s annual Upstairs, Downtown tour tomorrow evening.

This year, a guide will lead the groups through five upstairs locations: the newly renovated Endicott Hotel Apartments; the top floor of the Capital Commons building; Act One Creative on Low Avenue; the International Order of Odd Fellows building on Pleasant Street; and historic Phenix Hall. The tour will end with a wine and cheese reception at the Orr & Reno office on the third floor of the Love building at 45 S. Main St. (The Monitor is one of the tour’s corporate sponsors.)

“When you’re walking around downtown, it’s easy to think that all the action is taking place on street level,” said Liza Pointer, operations manager for Intown Concord. “But upstairs there’s a whole other universe of goings on and possibilities. There are offices and apartments and interesting things from Concord’s past, and we just love to show off these upper stories.”

The event will last from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., and participants should meet at the marquee at Red River Theatres. The tour will take place rain or shine. Tickets are $25 each and are available for purchase by cash or check only at Merrimack County Savings Bank at 89 N. Main St. or at intownconcord.org. Reception-only tickets are available for $10 each.

Some locations on the tour are not accessible for those with mobility disabilities.
