The Insiders: Sign up to walk a mile – in high heels
We’ve all walked a mile. It’s a great way to burn some calories after dinner or get ready for that proposed race walking event we’re trying to get going for sometime between this fall and never.
But while completing a distance of 5,280 feet doesn’t seem all that difficult, have you ever done it in bright pink high heels and for a good cause? Because here’s your chance to do both. Walk A Mile in Her Shoes, an event created to raise awareness and money to help end domestic and sexual violence and the first of its kind in Concord, will be held Oct. 1, but tonight will be the registration kickoff at the Barley House (132 N. Main St.) at 5 p.m.
On the docket is a guest speaker, snacks, contests and places for all the men out there to buy those heels you’ll probably only wear once. It only costs $25 to register and includes a T-shirt. RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org for tonight’s event or just show up, and check out firstgiving.com/crisiscenterofcentralnh/WAM for more information.
And for another $20, you can hit up The Holiday Inn for a night of rolling on the floor laughter with the Comedy Night for Boston Children’s Miracle Network with comedians Stephen Bjork and Alana Susko. Show begins at 7 p.m.
