Divers end underwater search for missing women in Hinsdale

Investigators from three states have wrapped up their underwater search for evidence in the disappearance of a New Hampshire mother and her teenage daughter 13 years ago.

Divers and investigators from New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Vermont worked this week at a dam on the Connecticut River in Vernon, Vt. – in the very southeast corner of the state.

The 36-year-old mother and her 15-year-old daughter – Tina and Bethany Sinclair – of Chesterfield were last seen in February 2001.

The Brattleboro Reformer reported there are no new leads in the case, but quoted investigators as saying they wanted to search the dam as part of their cold case investigation. New underwater sonar technology was utilized by divers to collect evidence from areas adjacent to the dam.
